As a result, thousands of people around the world unknowingly repeat the same failed experiments, wasting valuable time, resources, funding, and effort.
NullArchive exists to change that.
NullArchive is an open platform dedicated to preserving and sharing negative results, failed experiments, unsuccessful methodologies, and research attempts that did not work. Instead of treating failure as something to hide, NullArchive treats it as valuable knowledge that can guide future innovation.
The platform allows researchers, engineers, technologists, students, and independent investigators to:
Publish failed experiments and negative results.
Upload research papers, datasets, logs, and supporting materials.
Document approaches that were attempted and why they failed.
Help others understand what has already been tried.
Prevent unnecessary duplication of unsuccessful work.
Build upon past failures to discover new solutions.
Before beginning a new project, researchers can search NullArchive to explore previous attempts in their field. A single archived experiment could save someone months of work, thousands of dollars in funding, or years spent pursuing an approach that has already proven ineffective.
History shows that scientific progress is not built only on successes it is also built on failures. Every unsuccessful experiment teaches us something about what does not work, and that knowledge is just as important as positive results.
Our mission is simple:
No valuable research should be lost simply because the results were negative.
By creating the world's archive of failed research and negative results, NullArchive aims to make research more transparent, more efficient, and more collaborative. We believe that every experiment successful or unsuccessful adds to humanity's collective knowledge.
Failure is data. Failure is knowledge. Failure deserves to be preserved.
