Assalamoalaikum! my name is Asma Abid, and I am reaching out to ask for your kindness and support during a very difficult season for my family.
Since we lost our family's primary breadwinner in January, our lives have been turned upside down. It has been a year of immense grief, but also a year of immense struggle. My son, Afnaan, has stepped up in every way possible working long, exhausting hours every single day as a bike rider to try and keep us together.
Watching him work so hard while we still struggle to meet our most basic needs is heartbreaking. Despite our best efforts, the cost of rent and the rising price of utilities have become more than we can manage alone. We are currently facing the very real fear of falling behind on our rent and losing the roof over our heads.
What We Are Facing
