Help Bilal Ahmad Get DBS Surgery for Parkinson's and Reclaim His Life

My name is Bilal Ahmad, and I am organizing this fundraiser myself from Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. I have been living with Parkinson’s disease since 2019.

I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s at the age of 32. I am now 39, a husband and father of three children, and I have spent the past seven years fighting a disease that has progressively affected my ability to move, work and live independently.

I worked as a Software Developer until December 2025, when my Parkinson’s symptoms became so severe that I was no longer able to continue working. Losing my ability to earn has placed a significant financial burden on me and my family.

Despite medication, my symptoms have continued to worsen. My doctors at the Punjab Institute of Neurosciences (PINS), Lahore, have recommended Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) surgery because my current medications are no longer providing adequate control of my symptoms.

DBS is not a cure for Parkinson’s, but for suitable patients it can significantly improve symptom control, mobility, independence and quality of life. My doctors believe that DBS could give me a better chance of regaining independence and potentially returning to work.

The estimated cost of my DBS treatment is approximately PKR 4.7 million which is far beyond what my family and I can afford.

How the Funds Will Be Used

All funds raised through this campaign will be used for my DBS surgery and related medical expenses in Punjab Institute of Neurosciences (PINS) Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan, as recommended by my doctors at PINS.

I will provide updates about my treatment and, where possible, how the funds are being used.
